Our mission

Small actions, every week, add up

We don't run campaigns. We run a Saturday morning, every Saturday morning, and we've done so for eleven years. The numbers above are what that looks like.

  • A clean-up every Saturday, rain or shine
  • Everything weighed, sorted and reported publicly
  • No membership fee — ever
  • Open to all ages, with families welcome

Programmes

  • Beach clean-ups

Saturdays, 8am, at a different beach each week. Gloves and bags provided.

  • School visits

A free hour-long session for primary classes, on the beach or in the classroom.

  • Habitat restoration

Dune planting and weed control with the council's rangers, monthly.

  • Community events

Film nights, talks and the annual picnic that pays for the rest.

The committee

All volunteers, elected each year at the annual meeting.

  • Rosa DelgadoChair

    Marine biologist, founding member.

  • Tom NakamuraTreasurer

    Keeps the picnic profitable.

  • Grace OyelaranSchools Coordinator

Primary teacher, runs the classroom programme.

My kids ask every Friday whether it's a clean-up tomorrow. It's become our thing.
