Add DNS records at your registrar
Where to paste the records the dashboard shows for your domain at GoDaddy, Namecheap, Cloudflare and Squarespace, and what to do while you wait.
After you add your domain on the Domain and billing tab, the dashboard lists the DNS records it needs. Add them where your domain's DNS is managed: usually the company you bought it from, unless you moved its nameservers elsewhere.
- Sign in at your registrar and open the domain's DNS settings (sometimes called DNS records, host records or Manage DNS).
- Add each record with exactly the type, name and value shown. Use @ as the name for the domain itself if your registrar asks for one.
- Remove any older A or CNAME record for the same name, such as one left from parking or another website builder.
- Come back to the dashboard and select Recheck.
Common registrars
- GoDaddy: open your Domain Portfolio, select the domain, and add the records in its DNS settings.
- Namecheap: open Domain List, select Manage, then add the records under Host Records on the Advanced DNS tab.
- Cloudflare: add the records under the domain's DNS records, and set Proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud) so the domain can be verified.
- Squarespace Domains, which now manages domains that were with Google Domains: open the domain's DNS settings and add the records under Custom records.
Each registrar's own help article is linked next to these steps in the dashboard. While the domain shows as waiting on DNS, your site keeps working at its blisspointanalytics.com address. Changes usually take effect within an hour but can take up to 48 hours.
